Springtime in the Park

Last week Mr P and I felt under the weather and didn't go out. However, yesterday a book was due to be returned to the library in the park so that is where I went despite it being a rainy day.

Since my last visit, due to the milder weather the trees in the Walled Garden were full of blossom.

We're both feeling a lot better today so we shall be out-and-about again this week.  I hope you are well.
Thank you for coming by.  Have a good rest of the week whatever you're doing.

The Local Walled Garden in Springtime

Recently I've had another blogging break as our eldest grandson has been staying with us in order to help us with some house maintenance.  He brought a high ladder and tools as Mr P can no longer climb up to do work at a height.  The gutters have been cleared, and woodwork done under the bay window at the front of our home.  We've been grateful for the help given especially as he lives quite a distance away. He also replaced a dripping tap system in the kitchen.

Since then we've been out-and-about locally and one fine day visited the library in the park.  There are new plants appearing in the Walled Garden and the blossom is out.

I thought that these primroses in different shades of yellow were pretty.

Finally, coming out onto the main road this new mural on the closed shutters of a cafe caught my eye.

In our own garden the tulips have been blooming for quite a while along with the pear and apple blossom.

Thank you for coming by.  There will possibly be a disruption from our internet provider today so I won't be able to reply to your comments if this happens.  Have a good day whatever you're doing and I'll be back soon.

A morning walk

This morning I went for a walk over to another one of the open green spaces in our neighbourhood as it's a while since I went that way.  There are many good places around the area where I can take a walk despite the fact that if I wander down hill I have to walk up another to get back home. Only a few words today.

The sun dial (below) was restored a few years ago.

Thank you for your visit and I hope you have a good weekend.

April Gardens

Gardening and being in the garden has been a satisfying experience this month.  The last week has been colder, but the rain showers have done the plants some good.  Watering continues in the covered areas and each day more flowers appear.  Over the garden wall I can see our neighbours' lilac is beginning to bloom.

We had our second Covid vaccination this week.  The appointment went smoothly and we didn't have to wait for long in the queue outside the surgery.  Everyone was still masked up, making sure they were keeping to the social distance requirements.  We were thankful Mr P could have the vaccination as he's recovering from the episode of shingles.  However, my arm is sore so I'm not able to do much on the computer, photography or crafting at the moment.  I've been doing a little reading and mainly resting. We can't complain since we're better off than many in other countries including loved ones in Italy.

Last week I went to the library and popped into the walled garden which was open. As well as the park maintenance there seems to be a lot of work happening in the walled garden and stable block behind it.
The new shed has been installed in the kitchen garden area.  One inner side wall where the gardeners have their rest rooms looks as if it's having a makeover.

I'm sure the children who come to visit with their carers love seeing the two ducks that have settled in the pond.

One of my favourite areas in the walled garden is the rockery where there are varieties of miniature rock plants.

In a month or two the roses in the rose garden in the park will be in bloom.  We're fortunate to have this
park so close to where we live.

Thank you for coming by.  Have a lovely weekend.
