Back to the library I went on Tuesday after finishing the book I had been reading. I did enjoy The Rising Tide (the latest publication in the Vera Stanhope series) written by Ann Cleeves. As usual there was a dramatic ending which I won't reveal here as it would spoil it for potential readers. I like the books for the small details about the characters as they develop over time, but on the whole I think I prefer Vera, (the television drama version of the series) for the visual aspect of the Northumbrian locations. I hope The Rising Tide will be commissioned as one of the episodes in the new series and then it'll depend on Brenda Blethyn as Vera being available in this long-running series for it to continue.
As you can see, the trees in the park were looking wonderful on that bright, sunny day. As usual I took a walk in the walled garden by the library and then into the wild garden.
