As you can see from the mosaic there's a miscellany of flowers, mostly roses. I was pleased to see the yellow columbines as I scattered seed that our daughter D had collected and given me last year. The oriental poppies are over now, but if I cut them back I might get a second flowering as has happened in the past. We've enjoyed the strawberries and look forward to the tomatoes. French beans and cauliflowers are growing along by the stone wall. The sunflowers are doing well in the front garden and when they flower they'll bring a smile to the neighbours' faces, I'm sure. Mr P plants cosmos and other flowers in various places and I get a surprise when I see them. Other plants flower every year and are stalwarts in our English garden.
At the moment Mr P is making a fence behind the tall cypress hedge using recycled wood and the trunks of the cypress that he cut down when he was thinning out the hedge. The neighbours' garden is a wild one and although it's good to have large, mainly uncultivated plots beyond our garden it was time to put up a boundary fence other than the cypress hedge. It's slow work and Mr P rests in an afternoon. Some days we've had drizzly weather. I'm pleased when Mr P leaves off and rests. Our daughter and granddaughter have not been well lately and, therefore, have not been visiting to see what Mr P is doing in the garden. Usually our grandson helps out with gardening, but now that he has a family he's occupied with work and family life. Anyway, all is well with us and I hope this is the same for you dear blog friends.
Thank you for coming by. I'll be back soon, Linda.
