Over the weekend we went down to Berkshire for a special event in our family calendar. On a beautiful day we witnessed the wedding of a grandson, Samuel, (the youngest son of Daughter D) as he got married to his beautiful bride, Emma.
Here are a few photos of a memorable day in the countryside.
The countryside estate was a wonderful setting for the wedding. The estate near my hometown of Reading in the County of Berkshire is in acres of parkland. It has been in one family ownership for seven generations. In 1759 John Mount discovered the Wasing Estate. As he wanted a country retreat away from the hustle of trade in London where he had a map and sea chart business he and his family swapped mapping for farming and land management in the Kennet Valley. The family took to country life and have remained in situ ever since.
Above and below are some photos of the buildings on the estate. We stayed overnight in one of the coach houses.
Our daughter D and family members had very comfortable accommodation in the grounds.
