Our wedding anniversary always coincides with Father's Day weekend so there were many lovely gifts from our children and grandchildren that were, not surprisingly, mostly garden related and much appreciated.
We've been enjoying the first lot of strawberries from the garden and honey from our granddaughter's boyfriend's parents' bee hives.
Our granddaughter visited and brought us a hanging basket of new strawberry plants that will eventually go into the fruit and vegetable plot and also a bouquet of lilies in bud that have now all opened.
We've had more heavy rain, but then yesterday we enjoyed a sunny day. It was not a heatwave as had been forecast and instead very pleasant. Apart from going to my book group in the local library and a routine hospital visit for an annual screening test, it's been a week of pottering at home. Mr P and grandson will be away in Italy soon, but granddaughter will be back from her holiday in beautiful Mallorca
