Remembrance

Today we remember those who gave their lives that we might live in freedom.

Back to the Park and Walled Garden Again

I had another walk to the library at the weekend.

It was a fairly sunny day and everything looked colourful in the Walled Garden area.

There's a book box underneath this pergola where books can be looked at whilst sitting for a rest.

a bright pink Salvia was in flower in the Walled Garden

(The "Hot Lips" variety of salvia in our own garden is still flowering).

Sedums have changed colour to a deep red now that it's Autumn.

This bush next to purple flowers is looking colourful.

A tree peony (on the right) will produce yellow flowers next year.

It was amazing to see the pussy willow bush had produced fluffy catkins - the weather has been very mild lately.

Thank you for coming by.  Have a good week!

A Walk Around Our Neighbourhood

Mr P stayed in the warm yesterday evening while I went for a walk around our crescent.  It was difficult to photograph anything, but this is what I saw as a few families had put lighted pumpkins on their doorsteps.

Local great granddaughter had her photo taken by her parents and sent it by mobile phone.  That way we keep in touch with our family.

Berkshire great grandson with his Dad picked up the fallen leaves in their garden last weekend.

Lastly, here is a photo of the local great grandchildren taken during Mr P's birthday celebration on a sunny day when we were able to sit out in daughter M's garden.  We're still enjoying mild weather in our corner although it can be chilly in the mornings.  Roll on Springtime!
I hope all is well where you live.  Have a good weekend!

November is Almost Here!

Views from our top storey window

We've been staying indoors in the warm house lately due to us both having a cough that has lingered after our 'flu vaccination, but we're a lot better now.  The car has been useful for doing some shopping when we've felt up to it.  Mainly we've been looking out of the window at the views from the back windows of our home as the trees begin to turn autumnal.  One chore that needs to be done soon is to pick up the fig tree leaves that are lying on the ground.

Did you see the super moon the other night?  It's also called the harvest moon.

We've been harvesting, bottling and cooking the last of our tomatoes that we grow in the covered yard.  It gets quite warm there and Mr P likes to sit and have his lunch under cover.

Some flowers still blooming in our garden

We've also planted bulbs ready for the Springtime. What have you been doing lately?  I look forward to hearing your news.

Have a good week!

October Days

Although it's rather a gloomy day today we've had some sunny weather this month.

I went to the park again and visited the walled garden.  It draws me in every time.  Of course I took some photos and also a few of our own garden.

The Autumn leaves are beginning to change to hues of pink, yellow and orange.

In our own front garden the vine leaves are beginning to change colour and the grapes that we'll leave for the birds are appearing.

Thank you for coming by.  I hope your week is going well.
