After going to the library in the park I often walk through the walled garden to the wildlife garden.
There's still a lot to see during the Winter months.
Since this information on a board was written the wildlife garden has continued to develop as the various volunteer groups, the park rangers and the council work together to make it a place that will encourage wild life activity. The pond has been maintained and kept clean, a stumpery has been created and the local school children continue to visit and gain from the learning experience.
As I walked quietly around I saw squirrels out-and-about again and quite a few birds, especially robins, flitting around. Volunteers are usually around clearing and digging so I expect the robins are attracted to what grubs can be found in the disturbed soil.

The Stumpery
A stumpery was a popular feature in a large Victorian garden influenced by the Romantic Movement.
It traditionally consists of tree stumps arranged upside down, upright or on their sides. Ferns and hostas were usually planted around the stumps.
