Our Garden in March, A Local Walk and Easter Greetings

Suddenly all those bulbs planted in pots at the end of last year in the covered yard have begun to produce interesting flowers.  There are the usual paper white narcissi, various types of daffodil as well as some new erythroniums 'Pagoda' and fritillarias 'Uva'.  Outside in the flower beds are more daffodils, hyacinths, pansies and primulas.

A huge bumble bee landed on a daffodil as I was taking a photo and I've see more smaller ones flying about here and there.

This year I decided to display my painted and decorated Easter eggs on the shelf in the front bay window along with the vases of Mothering Sunday flowers that are still doing well.  They can be seen by neighbours passing by.  We can meet outside, but not indoors as the restrictions are still very strict.  Hopefully the days will get warmer so that we can comfortably meet up with our local family in the garden or other open air green space.

Today I had to post some letters and cards so I walked to the nearest post box and then passed by the parish church.  The cherry trees that grow along the streets are full of beautiful blossom.

I enjoyed seeing  the combination of yellow forsythia against the blue sky.

It's good to see the new trees that were planted a few years ago are beginning to mature and will be appreciated by future generations.

As this will be my last blog post this Easter Week I send season's greetings.

Happy Easter!   Buona Pasqua!
