As well as being Father's Day on Sunday it was our wedding anniversary. Another beautiful bouquet of flowers arrived at the weekend from our No. 1 daughter and her three sons.
We had a lovely, quiet day with them and our daughter and granddaughter prepared a delicious lunch. We had starters of olives, mozzarella and tomatoes stuffed with ricotta and topped with breadcrumbs, Steak Diane-style beef, roasted vegetables, carrots and small Yorkshire puddings, carrot cake. (Our daughter is a vegetarian so she didn't have the meat). Then we sat in her garden and had coffee and shared the chocolates that my husband had bought for me. It was a relaxing afternoon.
Yesterday I received a call from the hospital to say that I could go for surgery earlier than expected so I shall be there on Friday. I shall take a break from blogging for a while as I've a full day at the hospital today for the pre-op preparation.
Once more thank you all for your kind and encouraging messages, thoughts, prayers and support. I shall turn off comments on this post as I know you'll be thinking of me as I shall be thinking of you, my friends.
Have a very peaceful week,
