Scavenger Hunt : June

Scavenger Hunt is organised by Greenthumb of Made with Love blog. Thank you Greenthumb. If you click on the code for Scavenger Hunt on my side bar you can learn more about this monthly challenge.

These are my finds for June:-

J IS FOR ?
JASPER  (elder daughter's pet)

RUST

SMOOTH:
A Cornish serpentine stone lamp base is now used as a doorstop.

IMAGINATION:
Anthony Browne illustrates an edition of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
Both used their imagination in their children's literary work.

CLASSIC:
Statue of Flora by the Flemish sculptor, Jan Nost (1694) in Flora's Temple, Chatsworth House, Derbyshire.

SIMILAR:
These Murano Confetti glass earrings are similar.  Being handcrafted the floaters inside make them slightly different.

PARALLEL:
A chain for the electric pulley system that opens and closes the garage door.

SOCKS

BEAD:
These earrings were made and sent to me by a blog friend, Ada (Flores de Colores).

MUG:
A mug bought in the Royal National Lifeboat Institution Museum, Bamburgh, Northumberland features the heroine, Grace Darling.

Another one was bought whilst visiting the antiquarian and second-hand bookshop, Barter Books, in Alnwick, when on holiday in Northumberland.

POST:
A grape vine grows up an unused washing line post

WHATEVER YOU WANT:
Oriental Poppies in our garden this month

  1. All lovely photos but Jasper is the cutest by far. I have a bit of a thing for ginger cats, I'd love one but Daniel's become allergic to cats, they end up triggering an asthma attack so no more cats for us.

    1. Jasper is still a junior and replaced our Berkshire daughter's beloved pet, Brian, who was a pale ginger and is much missed. Our local granddaughter gets itchy eyes when around fluffy animals, although our Gino didn't seem to be a problem and so for various reasons we all have to think twice about having a pet.

  5. Your scavenger hunt photos are always so fun. I love your interpretation of the words. Who can resist a kitty sleeping on a garden chair. He looks so comfy. Those poppies are amazing, all that color and texture. Our Lord is the greatest artist of all. Thank you for your kind thoughts on my blog.

  11. I always like when you do this at the end of the month. Your white poppies are beautiful. The kitty looks alot like my Joey. Classic statues are wonderful. The blue in the earrings is so pretty. Oh Murano glass hearts, I have several and hang them on my Christmas tree and there is one hanging above my desk right now. I always love vines growing on old clothesline poles. We have that in our yard also.

    1. Hello Elisabeth. Thank you for your visit. I'm pleased to have met you so thank you for leaving a comment. I think we share a love of gardens and flowers. Yes, the Cornish stone is beautiful and belonged to my parents who must have bought it when in Cornwall. It's a reminder of Cornish holidays as a child.

  20. Love the pictures and agree with most of the comments. I'm not a cat person so that one doesn't do it for me. My favourites are those lovely White Oriental Poppies. The mugs remind me of many happy holidays in Northumberland.
