Our Christmas

Yesterday afternoon we arrived back home after a few days away and it was just as well we made the journey as we're now snowed in! Thankfully we don't have to go anywhere at the moment so we've settled down to a more quiet time after the Christmas festivities with different members of the family here in Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

The pearl white hyacinths started to flower on Christmas Day

After sitting around eating delicious food and relaxing we all went for a walk through Wentworth Estate. Although it was chilly there was no hint of the heavy snow to come in the evening.
On 2nd January we went to see a grandson's performance in A Christmas Carol.

  3. I wish we'd had some snow--enough to take wonderful pics, but still get around in. It was 50 degrees on Christmas day which is quite unusual for Southeastern Ohio. All your photos are lovely. I esp. like your richly elegant red decorations and that wonderful pic of the two of you. How do you make that montage or collage? It's great!
I've been on break, but hope to be back regularly now.:>)

  5. So nice to read you had a wonderful Christmas. Yesterday we got the snow too, but not so much as you have, it has been freezing last night and it's very slippery now. You made some great mosaics, I love those dogs and of course the Christmas Carol of Charles Dickens. The book is on the table these days and I have been telling the story to my grandsons.
Wish you a very Happy, Healthy New Year!

  6. It sounds like you've had a wonderful Christmas with your family. We had a little more snow last night, it's hanging around because it's so cold so it's frozen over. Time to hunker down and stay where it's warm.

  10. Your pictures are lovely. So glad that you manage to get home safely. We haven't had a lot of snow but it feels as if it's freezing quite hard here tonight.
