Happy New Year!

After being snowed in since the evening of Boxing Day because of the icy hills in our neighbourhood
we managed to get out to do some food shopping today.  We still have company
and as our local daughter is working we have been looking after
our grandson whilst his sister has been staying with her friends.  The buses are
running and he's able to come to us by bus.
As you can see, he made a snowman.
The snow is melting a little in the weak sunshine, but freezing again in the evenings.
It will be a quiet New Year's Eve and Day this year.

Wishing all of you and your loved ones a very happy, healthy and peaceful new year 2015.

  1. Hello Linda

I'm so pleased there is a tiny thaw and you are able to get about. Wonderful photos, I love the snowman and your sky photo
is breathtaking, the colours are beautiful. I've just been browsing your Northumbria photos and I live near to The Angel of the North. Every time we visit
Ikea we pass it. Northumberland is a beautiful part of the country.

Happy New Year to You and Your Family.

    Stay safe warm and cosy.

  9. Thank you for your comment on my blog, Linda. Your pictures are lovely. Love your grandson's chubby snow man. Glad you managed to get out to do some food shopping.
We live off the beaten track so have that problem as well when the weather's bad. The thaw today was very welcome. Wishing you and your family a Happy 2015

    2. Blessings and prayers for 2015 to you and yours, Linda - I do so enjoy reading your blogs. 'Pax et bonum', as St Francis would say. My BH's sister and brother, and their families, live in Rotherham, so we're not so far from you when we come up from mid-Wales to visit them.

  13. hello

    1. Happy New Year to you and your family, Lisa. Yes, when snow falls heavily and settles we can't get out, firstly because we live on a no-through road which gets less traffic and isn't gritted and secondly we live in a hilly area. We have to get used to that situation.
